| We have a giant cottonwood tree on our property on the creek behind out house. Every May it puffs up with huge amounts of cotton. This branch came off in a storm with no visible cotton. A few days later it 'poofed' out, even though it was not on the tree. The tree itself, and two others nearby, innundate our yard with snowdrifts of cotton every spring. There is so much of it and it's a major pain to clean up. However, it's worth it, as the trees are grand to have back there in the summer- the leaves grab the wind and sound great. This branch I threw over the back fence down into the ravine. I saw it when I was dumping other dead plant matter there (it's a great place in the woods to compost this stuff). This isn't perhaps an inspiring picture- just a documentary one. Things I would do differently: Nothing Mods: Cropped | may06 | |||||||||||
