apr11.jpg - Donovan gets 'Picture of the Day' today. This may be the last photo of him. I got home from work and found he had lost partial use of his hind quarters, and the vet found he'd lost 25% of his body weight in the last 4 months. He won't be around for much longer in any case, as he has been slowly going downhill since last summer, but this may be it. He's been my buddy and companion for nearly 17 years, and I will miss him dearly.

Update: I have him back home for a little while longer. He is not well, but the vet is trying some treatment while waiting for one more test result to come in. He may have hyperthyroidism, which is treatable. If I can make him comfortable, I will keep him a bit longer. However, I won't let him live in pain. I will have to let go for his own sake.
