What is cool about this shot (to me) is that the scene out the window was taken by me in 1997 from the observation deck of the World Trade Center. Fringe bought it from me last summer for this scene- shot in a mock-up of the WTC in this alternate reality, parallel universe TV show. I used a macro objective lens in front of my macro lens, and achieved somewhat better resolution (so far without resorting to super resolution processing- have to try that as well to push it even further). Depth of field is very shallow- the more you magnify, the more difficult it becomes. Also, autofocus would not work, so had to try manual. We were in Home Depot waiting for some design folks to help us, and I was bored. I used the fact that cellphone cameras are slow scanning the image from the CCD, so you can play with it by spinning the shot while it's being taken. It's less that the shot is blurred, and more that each scan line has moved relative to the last one, bending the lights. Mods: None.
