Today I bought an Olympus point and shoot camera for our upcoming trip to St. Lucia. The camera is completely submersible to 33f (10m), and intended to take snorkeling, without having to mess with waterproof cases, and what not. My wife took this shot of me holding Nadia, our indoor/outdoor cat. Mods: None.

Today I pulled up the marigolds from the summer to replace them with pansies for the winter. There were still covered in blooms, but cold weather is coming. I clipped off the remaining marigolds and put them in this vase for what I call a 'Glassful of Summer'. I placed it on a large piece of blue posterboard for the shot, to simulate the sky. I've had these flasks of irridescent water sitting around for months now. I need to find some white carnations to dye with them. The intent is to make them fluoresce in a blacklight, as I'm doing here. I recently purchased some black plexiglass to use as a background, hence the darkened reflection here. Mods: None.

It seems that max resolution with two objective lenses attached is 100x, which is exactly what I got with this one. Once I use super resolution, I can go about 50% more (2x if extremely lucky on the original focus). This is a brushed metal rular- and those are 1mm marks on it. Mods: None.

This was taken at the Renaissance Festival near Magnolia, Texas. I like both the fun nature of the picture, not to mention the most extreme push-up bra I've ever seen! :) So many people dressed up in period clothing- there was a long march of them that lasted almost 10 minutes, of which this lovely lady was a part. This is the finished shower- compare with the picture taken in mid-October's gallery. That was a dingy, white tile shower- this one is a nice patterned tile with a nice inlay, inset soap and shampoo box, a seat and grab bar (not visible here), and oil-rubbed bronze faucets and trim pieces. The birds are out in force, milling around parking lots. I work out at Lifetime Fitness, in the background. I tried to find a place to park away from the birds, so they wouldn't mess up my car. Taken with my N97 cell phone. Mods: None.

I was trying to image a flower in a water droplet- that failed on this attempt, but I rather like the water droplet itself- here imaged pretty sharply. The yellow flower behind makes it look like an egg yolk. Mods: None.

Some neighbors down the road have a seriously-iron deficient oak tree. I pulled off a few leaves, and went super macro on it. I put an ojbective lens in front of the macro lens to try out for higher magnification. This is near 100x using multiple-shot super resolution, so probably the best to date that I have done. I went for a hike in a nature park at dusk, and the rabbits came out to feed. My flash combined with their large eyes and darkness led to severe red eye, or evil bunny look (I call this 'Lucifer Lepus'). Mods: None.

It is fall, and we've had some fairly good color. The Bradford Pears are still mostly green, but here and there they drop a red leaf, here pictured on our driveway. I like the hole in the leaf and the effect on the shadow. Mods: None.

This is a CFL bulb in my ceiling before it has warmed up. Light levels of CFLs are low for a minute or two as it takes a while for the plasma to heat up the bottom of the spiral. Mods: None.
